Ex-RATT Guitarist ROBBIN CROSBY Passes Away At Age 41
June 7, 2002Former RATT guitarist Robbin Crosby (full name: Robbinson Lance Crosby) passed away at 11:15 A.M. (PST) on Thursday, June 6th. He was 41 years old.
Crosby reportedly died peacefully at home in Hollywood, California and was in no pain. The paramedics on the scene gave the preliminary cause of death as a heart attack.
Details on a memorial service are pending.
Ex-RATT frontman Stephen Pearcy has issued the following message via his web site www.topfuelrecords.com: "Robbin was a sweet soul, great talent and he will be dearly missed. Rest in peace. Stephen Pearcy."
At the time of his death, Crosby had been suffering from full-blown AIDS after being diagnosed with the HIV virus back in 1994.
In an interview with KNAC.com that was published in July of last year, Crosby blamed his condition on a heroin habit that he acquired early on in RATT's career.
"[MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist] Nikki Sixx and I had gotten into the heroin thing together," Robbin stated at the time. "He was supposed to be the best man at my wedding and he didn't even come 'cause there was going to be people drinking and that was when he had just gone through his rehab thing. That really fried my ass."
